Pediatrics
by definition includes taking care of children up to 18 years
of age. However, adolescents although still in the "Pediatric"
age group have their own "teen-specific" health and wellness concerns.
Adolescent medicine is now a recognized sub-specialty of Pediatrics,
which specifically addresses teen issues including health and
prevention, puberty and sexuality, and importantly the many social
challenges that today's adolescents face.
This is why I have developed a specific category for adolescent
health and wellness which I hope will be a helpful resource not
only for parents but for teenagers as well.
